Rocket Football teams post victories

The Dowagiac Rocket Football League's Minor Division 1 team improved to 4-1 with a pair of victories last week.
Dowagiac defeated Coloma on Oct. 10 and defeated Watervliet 32-26 on Oct. 7.
Against Watervliet, Dowagiac had 381 yards in total offense. Treshawn Fields ran for 179 yards on 10 attempts, while Sean Alberts added 124 yards on 11 carries.
The offensive line, coached by Darby Smith, consists of Alex Payne, Leela Smith, Tommy Smith, Zach Marquart, Triston Howard and Connor Howard.
In the Coloma game, Aaron Adams ran for 88 yards, two touchdowns and a two-point conversion. Fields added 52 yards on five carries and a touchdown, while quarterback Devin Chapman finished with 84 yards on four carries. Chapman gained 64 of those yards on a fourth and eight keeper.
Alberts rushed for a game-high 169 yards on 11 carries and a touchdown.
Defensive standouts for Dowagiac were Rolando Lucio, Phillip Kocsis, Darren Murray, Tyrek Paxton, Sawyer Brown, Travis Brown, Brock Moore, Eric Walker, Zack Wallace, Austin Francois, Andrew Wild, Alexandria Kocsis, Sean Yore and Nick Carey.

Dowagiac remained undefeated (4-0) with a 36-0 victory over Coloma on Oct. 7.
The shutout was the third straight for Dowagiac.
Dowagiac controlled the line of scrimmage from the get-go and defensively only allowed one first down. The first down was the first by an opponent in three games.
Dowagiac has outscored its opponents 168-6 through four games.
