Dowagiac JV spank Allegan, 54-6

The Dowagiac junior varsity football team improved its record to 4-0 with a 54-6 road victory against Allegan.
Shaun Bruens threw a pair of touchdown passes, one to David Stark and one to Kevin Mitchell.
Mitchell also had a touchdown run.
Greg Nelson scored three touchdowns for the Chieftains, who also got a touchdown from Jeremy Nowak off of a blocked punt.
Mike Sirk returned a fumble for a touchdown.
Tim DeRyder added a two-point conversion, while Mike Filley had several extra point kicks.
"Our defense was unbelievable again tonight," Dowagiac coach Matt Alward said. "Our offense did a nice job and our offensive line did a great job. Our running backs are running well. Aaron Caldwell ran well for us."
Dowagiac freshmen fall to Tigers, 20-7
ALLEGAN – The Dowagiac freshmen football team dropped a 20-7 decision to host Allegan on Thursday afternoon.
Cody Klomes had a touchdown reception and intercepted a pass, while Cody Nowak recovered a fumble for the Chieftains.
Dowagiac is back in action next Thursday when it hosts Comstock.
