Senior Chris Primley and sophomore Shelly Urbanski have been named the Daily News Athletes of the Week for Aug. 21-26.
Primley helped Dowagiac win its season opener in football with three receptions for 80 yards and a pair of touchdowns. On defense Primley had seven tackles, two quarterback sacks and a blocked punt. He also returned a kick 35 yards.
Urbanski, who is undefeated on the season, captured first place at the Chieftain Invitational Tennis Tournament last week at No. 4 singles.
Urbanksi defeated Leah Barnes of Three Rivers in the finals, 6-2 and 6-0.
Each week, the Daily News will select two Athletes of the Week. The selections come from nominations from the Dowagiac Union High School coaching staff.
