Lady Bucks take Mishawaka Tournament championship

A two out, four run rally in the top of the seventh inning gave the Lady Bucks softball team the Mishawaka Tournament Championship Saturday afternoon.
Holly Lucas' triple with two outs pushed across the first two runs of a four-run inning giving Buchanan a 4-0 victory over South Bend St. Joe in the Bucks second game of the day. Buchanan finished the game with seven hits with Maggie Ernsberger picking up a double and Jill Woodrick collected two singles.
Earlier in the day Buchanan defeated South Bend Riley 3-0.
Buchanan pitcher, Ashely Pointer, was named the tournaments Most Valuable Player pitching both shut out games on Saturday. Pointer gave up five hits and struck out four and walked none against St. Joe and threw a seven hitter against Riley and gave up no walks in her seven innings pitched.
Buchanan scored two early runs in the first inning against Riley and added an insurance run in the seventh. Lucas doubled and singled in the game and Woodrick picked up a pair of singles to lead the Lady Bucks seven hit attack.
