EDWARDSBURG - Visiting Berrien Springs, ranked No. 2 in the latest Class C poll, scored three runs in the first inning of each game on its way to a sweep of Edwardsburg in Lakeland Conference baseball on Tuesday.
The Shamrocks won the opening game 5-0 and then took the nightcap, 8-4.
The sweep left the Eddies with a 9-11 overall record and a 7-6 league mark.
Kolby Wood picked up the victory for the Shamrocks in the first game, while Taylor Ort took the loss for the Eddies.
In the second game, Edwardsburg banged out eight hits in a losing effort, including a home run by Steven Gowen and doubles by Cody Williams and Corey Johnson.
Shelby Wood picked up the win for Berrien Springs. Josh Teeter took the loss for the Eddies.

EDWARDSBURG - Lorin Thompson tossed a no-hitter in the second game to help Edwardsburg sweep visiting Berrien Springs in a Lakeland Conference doubleheader.
The Lady Eddies (12-13, 6-8 LAC) won the opening game, 4-0. Edwardsburg completed the sweep with a 4-0 win in the nightcap.
Thompson struck out seven in picking up the victory in the second game.
Alexa Smith had two doubles for the Lady Eddies, who also got two hits each from Elizabeth Huffman and Jeni Bollenbacher.
In the opening game, Bollenbacher tossed a two-hitter with five strikeouts.
Lindsay Moellenberndt had three hits, including a double for the Lady Eddies. Bollenbacher had two hits, as did Kelsey Moreno, including a double.
