Lady Vikings take two against Lakeview

NILES - It was a successful night for the Niles varsity softball team as the Vikings traveled to Battle Creek Lakeview and claimed 7-0 and 6-1 victories on the road.
Niles, now 11-4 overall and an honorable mention in the recent Division I Coaches Polls, had solid offense and defense that contributed to the win.
Jenna Ignowski picked up two wins in the circle, bringing her record to 8-4 overall. She threw a total of 17 strikeouts on the night and allowed no walks and just four hits. She also had two singles at the plate.
Top hitters were Kayla Gross with a double and two singles, Cricket Fisher had four singles, Nicole Ignowksi had three doubles, Nellie Coquillard had a double and a single, Stephanee Schrader had two singles and Julie Kater, Lauryn Gibson, Lindsay Carey and Karly Kennedy all added one single each.
The Lady Vikes will travel to St. Joseph on Tuesday for a Big 16 divisional game set to begin at 4 p.m.
