Brandywine boys track team still going strong with win over Eddies

NILES - The Brandywine boys track team took an 82-56 win over Edwardsburg Monday evening, while the girls team fell to the Eddies, 89-35.
In the boys events, first place finishers on the day were Ryan Hartman, who had a 42-feet-2 throw in the shot put and a 134-foot throw in the discus and Kyle Perry cleared 10-foot-6 in the high jump to complete the field events.
Brandywine finished with a time of 9:18 in the 3200 meter relay, 1:37 in the 800 meter relay and 47.7 in the 400 meter relay.
Individual race winners were Brian Wieger, who had a time of 4:55 in the 1600 meter run and a time of 11:10 in the 3200 meter run.
Brett Gilpin had a time of 24.3 in the 200 meter dash and Justin Price finished the 400 meter dash with a time of 53.5.
In the girls events, the Lady Cats took first place wins in the long jump, where Kyla Molica had a leap of 12-foot-9. Michelle Smith had an 8-footer in the high jump to finish the field events.
In race action, Ashley Harrell took first in the 1600 meter run with a time of 6:21 and in the 3200 meter run with a time of 13:34, while Alicia Garcia had a time of 1:10 in the 400 meter dash.
