NILES - The City of Niles Utilities Department will no longer send shut-off notices to customers who are delinquent in paying their bills.
This change will become effective June 1.
The monthly bill generated by the Utility Department will include information regarding potential shut-off similar to the information shown on the former “pink” shut-off notice.
This information will only print if a customer is delinquent at the time their bill is generated.
This change in policy will give customers more notice of a potential disconnect than what was possible in the past.
Customers wanting additional information should contact the City's Billing Department at 683-4700.
