Leona Porter, 83, of Flamingo Street, Lake Placid, Fla., formerly of Niles, died peacefully at 1:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 25, at Highlands Regional Medical Center in Sebring, Fla., after an extended illness.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 1, at Halbritter Funeral Home in Niles, with Pastor Terry White of the Beacon Baptist Church in Niles officiating.
A graveside committal service will follow at the Galien Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions, in her memory, may be made to the Salvation Army in Niles.
