NILES - Linda and Earl Foster were sure they wanted to open another restaurant. After searching for locations across the area, they found their spot in downtown Niles.
On Thursday, Jan. 12, the Fosters, who also own the Home Plate, held a grand opening ceremony for their newest establishment, Linda's Hob Nob Bistro. The Four Flags Area Chamber of Commerce sponsored the event held at 206 E. Main St. in downtown Niles.
The location was once occupied by the Appletree Restaurant but has received a considerable upgrade since being bought by the Fosters. The waitress station has been enlarged and the checkered pattern that lines the station walls matches the collars of the new Hob Nob shirts. The bistro has new lighting and fans and is entirely non-smoking.
The Fosters said the project began around two to three months ago and also kept the couple up late Wednesday night in preparation for Friday's ceremony.
The Fosters and were welcomed into downtown Niles by the Chamber of Commerce, other officials and a few members of the community with a ribbon cutting ceremony.
Linda's Hob Nob Bistro will be open daily from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will serve breakfast and lunch.
