NILES - Twin sisters and an older brother will be welcoming home the first baby of 2006 at Lakeland-Niles.
Everyone in the maternity unit needed to wait for the arrival of the first baby until Tuesday morning, Jan 2, when Nathan Stanley Janesheski appeared two weeks early at 8:35 a.m.
His mother Christina “Hope” (Gillis) Janesheski was more than happy to deliver her 8 lb. 13 oz. son, after coming to the Niles hospital at 5:30 that morning.
Her first son, Simon Constable, 5 and twin daughters, Christina Renee and Chaylin Roetta, who will be two on Feb. 8, will join with dad, Roger Janesheski, at their Niles home to welcome little Nathan.
Her sister, Faith Gilmour, was the one to discover the baby was the first of the new year. The baby also has another aunt, Amanda Compoe and uncle, David, 12, also Hope's siblings.
Other relatives include maternal grandparents, Dan and Jean Gillis of Niles and paternal grandparents, Lynn and Pennie Butterworth of Niles. Maternal great-grandparents are Jack and Roetta Kulhn of Niles and Charlie and Donna Hess of Edwardsburg.
Paternal great-grandparents are Bob and Sylvia Hand of Niles.
Hope is a 1997 graduate of Niles High School.
The nurses and staff who work in the maternity unit presented the mother and baby with presents including a blanket, gift certificate, sleeper and stuffed frog.
