NILES - Niles' Brandon Thomas and Buchanan's Marquis Hall have been chosen as the Niles Daily Star Athletes of the Week for Dec. 5-10.
Thomas, a sophomore for the Niles varsity basketball team, is a threat from everywhere on the court.
In Niles' season opener against South Bend Washington, Thomas was the leading scorer with 21 points.
Against Kalamazoo Loy Norris, Thomas again led the Vikes in scoring with 29 points and grabbed 13 rebounds.
Hall, a sophomore on the Buchanan varsity basketball team, was a key to the Bucks' win over White Pigeon in their season opener on Dec. 6.
A big steal in the fourth quarter in White Pigeons back court and a thunderous dunk sealed the victory for his team.
Hall scored nine of his game high 18 points in the final period.
