NILES - Bundle up and head to Niles Saturday to celebrate the holidays with fellow community members at the Holiday Homecoming taking place all day.
The holiday activities on Saturday begin in the morning and continue all through the day.
At 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., students from the Champion Martial Arts school located at 306 E. Main St. will be doing an exhibition performance.
From noon to 2 p.m. check out the Co-op Santa Shop located at 127 E. Main St., but use the second street entrance.
The co-op shop allows those merchants who really don't have a kid friendly atmosphere such as the antiques shops or the bridal shop to offer the community gifts for the holidays as well, Croteau said.
Santa Claus will also be making a stop in Niles on Saturday, from noon to 2 p.m. This year he is located at 207 N. Second St.
Christine Allynne Photography will be taking photographs with Santa for $3 for anyone who wishes to have a holiday memento.
The Niles Art Association invites everyone to come and enjoy the art of Niles area artists during the opening of the Something Sacred art show at the Fisher Gallery E. 306 Main St. 2 to 8 p.m. Refreshments will be served.
From 4 to 6 p.m., head to the historic Niles Amtrak train depot and join the Four Flags Garden Club as they light the station for the holidays.
The celebration continues with the lightning of downtown Niles at 6:30 p.m.
At the lightning ceremony there will be entertainment including sing-a-longs with the Niles Main Street Singers.
At 4:30 and 7:30 p.m., the Niles Academy of Performing Arts, located at 214 N. Second St., will be giving a dance performance.
At 6 p.m., the entertainment continues with Coulter's Chapel Singers performing at Majerek's located at 312 E. Main St. The Time Travelers String Band will be performing also at 6 p.m., at the Main Street Antique Mall, located at 109 E. Main.
