Buchanan’s Hayley Cashier named to first LAC first team

NILES - Lakeland Conference champion Bridgman and runner-up Cassopolis both placed two players on the all-league squad which was released on Tuesday.
Cassopolis' Kelsey Gordon and Dee Dee Hawkins were joined on the first team by Bridgman's Heather Seyfred and Miranda Strefling.
Also named to the first team was Buchanan's Hayley Cashier.
Brandywine's Kalie Newman and Buchanan's Emily Ross were both named to the second team.
Katie Smallwood was an honorable mention for the Lady Cats and Danielle Bachleda also earned honorable mention for the Bucks.
Cassopolis' Floyd Foston, Bridgman's Amy Houghton, Brandywine's Dave Roeder and Buchanan's Bill Weaver were named Co-Coaches of the Year.
Seyfred and Gordon are both seniors, while Strefling and Hawkins are both juniors. Cashier is a sophomore.
