NILES - After a strong showing last season and placing second in the team districts, Buchanan's varsity wrestling squad shows no sign of giving in this year.
In fact, the Bucks have set a few goals this season, to win conference and districts, and with the return of 16 letter winners, their odds of doing that are really good.
Buchanan will open its season tonight in Eau Claire with match times set to start at 6 p.m.
Mucha, who enters his 26th year as head coach, stated that one of his team's biggest threats is that they are really good on their feet this year.
In the conference, Mucha feels the two biggest threats will be Coloma and Edwardsburg.
Buchanan will not see either of these teams until January, but will keep busy in the mean time.
After tonight's match, the Bucks will head to Niles on Saturday for the Varsity Wrestling Invitational, which begins at 10 a.m.
