American Legion observing Veterans Day Friday, Nov. 11

Veterans Day will be observed in Dowagiac Friday, Nov. 11, 2005, with a ceremony at 10:45 a.m. at the American Legion Home, 806 N. Orchard St., according to Lawrence O. Starrett, commander of Doe-Wah-Jack Post 563.
The veterans ceremony will begin with the presentation of arms and the pledge of allegiance followed by an invocation by Chaplain Tommy Reels.
Commander Starrett will serve as master of ceremonies.
Bert Smith will read the names of servicemen killed in World War I, World War II, Korea and Vietnam.
Participating in the ceremonies will be American Legion Post 563 and its auxiliary and the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 89 and its auxiliary.
The public is invited to attend this observance in memory of all veterans.
