NILES - The South Bend Cardinals Baseball Club are well on their way to Fort Myers, Fla. to participate in the 2005 Roy Hobbs World Series, beginning on Sunday.
The team will be playing in the Veteran's Division, which consists of players 38-years of age and older.
Among the team, which is made up of members from all around Michana, Chicago, Ill and even Massachusetts, are Niles' Tod Moorhead and Jim Gill.
The Cardinals will begin tournament play on Sunday, when they will face the DuPage Angels and the Manganaro Midatlantic Redwings.
The team will continue through Thursday, Nov. 3 and on Friday, Nov. 4 playoff single elimination will begin, with the championship game being held on Saturday, Nov. 5.
Roy Hobbs Baseball is for people who love the game of baseball. It has been determined that anyone, any age, can play the greatest of America's team sports.
Roy Hobbs Baseball is primarily an organization geared to 30-and-over competition.
