Edwardsburg shares Lakeland crown

NILES - The Edwardsburg girls' cross country team captured a share of the Lakeland Conference championship on Tuesday afternoon at Brandywine High School.
The Lady Eddies, led by runner-up Angie Bronicki, finished with 42 points to easily outdistance Berrien Springs, which finished with 59 points.
River Valley was third with 74 points and Buchanan fourth with 80 points. Brandywine finished fifth (121), Bridgman sixth (151) and Coloma (175).
In the final conference standings, Berrien Springs and Edwardsburg tied for first place.
Berrien Springs' Becky Miller was the overall winner with a time of 21:03.
Berrien Springs won the boys' cross country title with 54 points.
Bridgman was second with 74 points and Buchanan third with 82 points. Brandywine finished fifth with 84 points and Edwardsburg fifth with 108 points.
Coloma (123), Cassopolis (188) and River Valley (218) rounded out the order of finish.
Edwardsburg's Mike Penninger was the overall winner with a time of 17:26. Kyle Banish of Berrien Springs finished second with a time of 17:31.
