Dowagiac kickers hosting Benton Harbor today

The Dowagiac varsity soccer team will try to break into the win column today in the Big 16 Conference Soccer Black Division Tournament.
The Chieftains will host winless Benton Harbor in a match slated to begin at 5 p.m.
Dowagiac dropped a tough 2-0 decision to arch rival in the opening round of the tournament.
The Vikings will travel to Sturgis tonight for a 6:45 contest.
The Chieftains will host either Coldwater of Battle Creek Central on Thursday with the varsity match slated to begin at 4 p.m. The junior varsity match will follow.
Benton Harbor does not have a junior varsity squad.
In the opening round of the tournament, Sturgis defeated Benton Harbor 12-0, Battle Creek Harper Creek defeated Coldwater 3-2 and Kalamazoo Loy Norrix defeated Battle Creek Central 9-0.
Over in the Silver Division, Portage Northern defeated Marshall 6-1, Battle Creek Lakeview defeated Lakeshore 7-1, Portage Central blanked Kalamazoo Central 4-0 and St. Joseph blanked Mattawan 3-0.
Today Portage Northern will host Lakeview, while Portage Central travels to St. Joseph.
In the consolation bracket, Lakeshore will host Marshall and Kalamazoo Central will host Mattawan.
Division 3 tourney
The Division 3 soccer district schedule was released, with Edwardsburg playing host to this year's tournament.
The first set of games is scheduled to begin on Monday, Oct. 24. Brandywine will face River Valley at 7 p.m.; Coloma will take on Bridgman at 6 p.m. Dowagiac will meet with Buchanan at 4:30 p.m. and Edwardsburg will face Berrien Springs at 4:30 p.m.
The winners of the Brandywine/River Valley and Col-oma/Bridgman game will play on Wednesday, Oct. 26 at 4:30 p.m.
The winners from the Dowagiac/Buchanan and Edwards-burg/Berrien Springs game will play on Thursday, Oct. 27 at 4:30 p.m. The final two teams will play on Saturday, Oct. 29 for the championship game at noon.
