NILES - From the start of the game Thursday evening, it appeared Niles' varsity soccer team had started on the right foot, but by the end, the Vikings found themselves on the wrong foot as visiting Edwardsburg took a 4-3 win over the Vikes.
Michael Tanke opened up the scoring for Niles in the eighth minute when he scored the first goal on an assist by Julian Freas, but that was the only goal Niles saw in the first half.
The Eddies went on to score three goals in the first to give them a 3-1 halftime lead.
Tanke scored another goal to open the second half of play in the third minute and he assisted C.J. Rumpf at the 28th minute to tie the game a three, but a free kick on Edwardsburg's end at the 30th minute allowed the Eddies to score the game winning goal.
