Haunting in Niles begins

NILES - If you're ready to take a trip through the scariest, creepiest, most blood-curdling attractions, then head to the Niles Haunted House Scream Park.
Today the scream park will open for its 26th annual fright festival, by "scaring the yell out" of people with five different haunted attractions.
The scream park will be open this weekend on both Friday and Saturday from 8 to 11 p.m. and also next weekend Sept. 23 and 24 and Friday, Sept. 30, also from 8 to 11 p.m.
Beginning in October the park will be open all weekends, expect Sunday, Oct. 2, and then during the week of Halloween the attractions will be open Wednesday through Monday.
The Niles Haunted House Scream Park has carried on the tradition of rebuilding the passageways and rooms of the 2005 haunted house with new themes and scares. In addition to supernatural phenomenon, this year's haunted house goers will experience sights, sounds and even smells which may leave them gasping for air.
With more than a 100 possible routes through the house, there is often no telling what one might run into.
This year the big white tent offers two all new attractions, "Screamreapers" and "Nightmares." Those entering "Nightmares" will be amazed at the detailed sets. It's truly a new type of haunted attraction for this area. And entering "Screamreapers is guaranteed to raise the hair on the back of one's neck.
The Field of Screams offers an expanded outdoor maze and lots of new surprises this year and the Dark TERRORtory Haunted Hayride will continue to amaze the park's visitors.
This year also features and improved "Midway of the Macabre," It will feature old favorites and the "X-terminator, a hit attraction will return.
The midway will also feature several food concession which will provide enough variety to satisfy everyone's craving.
Each night the Niles Haunted House is open they utilize approximately 150 volunteers for the various attractions.
Last year the Niles Haunted House also funded three college scholarships at Niles High School and one at Brandywine High School.
The Niles Haunted Scream Park is located on Mayflower Road, south of Niles-Buchanan Road, just off Exit 5 of the US 31 Bypass.
