The Dowagiac freshmen football team scored a pair of fourth quarter touchdowns to rally for a 14-14 tie with Marshall.
The Chieftain junior varsity football suffered its first loss in two seasons as it was defeated by the Red Hawks at Chris Taylor-Alumni Field Thursday night, 28-6.
Freshmen football
Tim DeRyder scored a rushing touchdown and Robert Jirmnson hauled in a Shaun Bruens pass to help the Chieftains rally from a 14-0 deficit in the final quarter.
Jirmnson also had an interception, while Chad Ottinger recovered a fumble.
JV football
Kyle Prak scored the lone touchdown in the first half for the Chieftains.
