NILES - At Monday night's Brandywine Community Schools Board of Education meeting, the board approved the distribution of a healthy living survey to parents, guardians, staff and community members in the Brandywine district. As it was approved the survey will soon be available.
The Healthy Living committee, which is made up of parents, staff and other community members plan to distribute a survey which will assess the needs of all the students in the district.
The survey will cover a variety of health topics and help to determine which topics should be introduced at certain grade levels.
In other business, the district is moving forward with the hiring of a middle/high school principal, a position which was recently left open when Chris Banaszak accepted a job with the South Bend School Corporation.
If all goes well, Rider hopes to visit the final candidate's current job site on Friday.
Finally, Rider thanked those in the district and the community who helped to get the lights at the high schools football field up and working.
