DeVos campaigns here for governor

CASSOPOLIS - Gubernatorial candidate Dick DeVos will meet today with community leaders and residents of St. Joseph and Cass counties to discuss his plans for Michigan.
The candidate is currently traveling throughout the state to answer questions and hear the concerns of voters on issues ranging from jobs to health care costs and education.
DeVos was scheduled to visit Centreville this morning, Three Rivers Rotary Club at noon, tour the 1899 Cass County courthouse at 2:30 and the Law and Courts Building at 3:30.
Former lieutenant governor Connie Binsfeld Aug. 19 endorsed DeVos for Michigan governor.
Binsfeld was John Engler's lieutenant governor from 1991 until 1998 and championed children's issues. She also served in the Michigan Senate, House and on the Leelanau County Commission.
Binsfeld officially announced her endorsement at an event in Munising while DeVos campaigned through the Upper Peninsula.
