He's back……
The king of the ring, the Michael Jordan of wrestling, the Real American Hero, the greatest known wrestler ever has made his debut once again, but this time it's not in your normal wrestling ring, but in the ring of reality television.
That's right I'm sure you know or have guessed by now that I am talking about the Hulkster himself…Mr. Hulk Hogan and his new television show Hogan Knows Best.
Hogan dominated the wrestling world in the 1980s, way before anybody ever smelled what The Rock was cookin'.
He's known for addressing everyone as "brother," tearing his yellow Hulkamania shirt with his bare hands and asking the ever-so famous questions, "Wha'cha gonna do when Hulk comes for you?" Now he's taking a different roll and critics are pleased because producers have finally found a show that shows what the true American family should be like.
"They have morals, values and rules and stick to all of them. Their children are well raised, they work out their problems by talking instead of yelling and they allow no bad influences," a recent article in People magazine said.
I enjoy watching Hogan Knows Best, but had to disagree when I read this article.
I'll agree that they do seem like a pretty normal family, but the true american family? I don't think so.
Hulk is an overprotective, sensitive, worry freak type of father, which isn't bad, but he goes a little overboard with his actions.
He installed a GPS tracking devices in his daughter Brooke's car before she went on a date, interviewed her date to find out his entire life history and doesn't allow her to eat chocolate chip cookies because she has to watch her waistline.
She is also not allowed to go to the mall, hang out with friends and as she said on the show recently, "I am so overprotected. I can't even leave the house." And no part of that is a lie.
Yet, Hulk turns around and jokes with her about her mini skirt and skin tight t-Shirt stating…"They're real."
I guess if she can't leave the house, it doesn't matter what she wears. No one will see her.
If you haven't seen the show yet, check it out. You'll see what I am talking about.
In a way it reminds me of the PG version of The Osbourne's. Terry "Hulk" Hogan is the only "real" celebrity among his family of four, just like Ozzy. His daughter Brooke, 16, is an aspiring music star, just like Kelly. His son Nick, 14, is a rebel and somewhat of a loud mouth, just like Jack and his wife Linda seems to be very supportive of her family and pretty much runs the show, just like – you guessed it-Sharon.
It's funny because Hulk comes off as such a mean guy in the ring, but at home he is a totally different man.
At age 52, he has now maintained that insanely deep suntan for at least three decades. No wonder he's still huge. He must know that when he stops working out, he's going to look like a giant, deflated football.
I respect him because he is so involved in his family and supportive of what his kids want to do, he's just too overprotective.
And yes, there is such thing!
But, does he have a right to be? Yeah in a way he does. Afterall he is Hulk Hogan! I am sure most teenage boys in America are drooling over his daughter and she probably gets driled by fans when she is seen in public. But I still think he goes way overboard with her.
Still, somehow, I get the feeling that one of them will walk out of this with a record deal.
Wha'cha gonna do?
