Tabor Hill Winery celebrates 35 years

BUCHANAN - William Shakespeare once wrote, "Good wine is a familiar creature if it be well used."
The many visitors to Tabor Hill Winery and Restaurant, in Buchanan, each year have found Shakespeare's philosophical thought to be of great truth and find comfort in the warmth and familiarity visiting Tabor Hill brings.
Today and Sunday, Tabor Hill will clebrate more than three decades of serving the Southwest Michigan community with the celebration of their 35th Anniversary from 12 to 5 p.m.
Tabor Hill found its fruitful beginnings in 1968 as a prosperous vineyard thanks in part to the hilly terrain in which it resides. This hilly terrain provides the grapes with ideal airflow and prevents the late freezes in the spring, as well as the early freezes in the fall.
The wine produced at Tabor Hill, by winemaker Mike Merchant, has traveled throughout the United States and won numerous awards along the way.
All wines at Tabor Hill are produced through a complete line of the best wine making equipment in the state of Michigan.
Tabor Hill's first wine, the Classic Demi-Sec, has even found its way into the glasses of several U.S. presidents.
Tabor Hill's 35th Anniversary celebration will feature a variety of fun activities for the whole family to enjoy including: hay wagon vineyard tours, raffles, barrel tasting of a variety of wines, and complimentary appetizers.
Tabor Hill Winery is open daily from 12 to 4:30 p.m.
The Tabor Hill Restaurant is open for lunch Wednesday through Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and open for dinner starting at 5 p.m.; on Sunday the restaurant is open from 12 to 9 p.m.
Tabor Hill Winery and Restaurant has been owned by Linda and Dave Upton, of St. Joseph, for over 35 years.
