Dowagiac All-Stars win Hartford crown

Dowagiac captured the Hartford Tournament championship as it defeated North Lincoln, Dowagiac No. 1, River Valley and Watervliet.
Dowagiac opened the tournament with a 16-1 victory over North Lincoln.
Nick File was 4-for-4 with three RBIs, while Prak was 3-for-4 with four RBIs. Dowagiac also got two hits, including a home run and five RBIs from Kyle Bailey.
Cox was the winning pitcher.
In the second game of the tournament Dowagiac posted a 12-2 victory over Dowagiac No. 1.
Keith Prak had two hits including a home run, while Jordan Huey and DJ Edgerly also had two hits.
Jason Fryman was the winning pitcher.
In the third game Dowagiac defeated River Valley 22-1.
Bailey went 3-for-3 with a home run and five RBIs. Dowagiac also got a 3-for-3 performance with four RBIs from Keith Prak. Troy Stover went 3-for-3.
Reggie Fritz picked up the victory.
Dowagiac defeated Watervliet back-to-back in games four and five.
In the first game Dowagiac won 15-4.
File went 3-for-5 for the All-Star, who also got a 2-for-3 performance with a grand slam from Fryman. Fryman finished with six RBIs.
Juey was 2-for-2 with a pair of doubles. Stover picked up the mound victory.
In the second game against Watervliet the All-Stars scored a 14-10 victory.
Keith Prak, Kyle Prak and Stover all had a pair of hits for Dowagiac.
Edgerly was the winning pitcher.
In the final game of the tournament Dowagiac defeated Dowagiac No. 1, 13-7.
Kyle Prak was 4-for-5. Huey and File went 3-for-5 and 2-for-4 respectively.
Cox earned the victory.
District 15
The Dowagiac Senior Baseball All-Star team opened up Michigan Little League District 15 competition on Saturday with a 6-4 victory over Three Rivers at Mattawan.
Dowagiac, which is now 27-1-1 on the season, now advances to Centreville on Friday night against a yet to be determined opponent.
On Saturday Kyle Prak went 2-for-4 with a pair of home runs and three RBIs.
Jake Cox went the distance on the mound to pick up the victory. Cox allowed three hits with five strike outs and one walk.
