CASSOPOLIS - At least 12 Cass County men are sporting a new look for 2006.
The traditional "farmer's tan" may become next year's hot attire when Cass County Conservation District releases its new calendar this fall.
Farmers, friends of farmers and those interested in our natural resources are posing as nature intended to help raise funds for district programs.
According to district spokesperson Kay McAdam, each "calendar boy" posed in his everyday surroundings with strategically placed items that relate to his work, hobbies or interest in conservation.
All photographs were professionally taken by Joe Hilliard, Hilliard Photographics, of Elkhart, Ind.
Calendar models include Dave Leach, Ron McAdam and Bill Westrate of Cassopolis; Chris Carrick, Randy Hartley and Jeff Tolbert of Edwardsburg; Scott Newland, Ron Ransbottom and Daryl Swartz of Marcellus, and Mike Tucker of Union.
Representing St. Joseph County (Michigan) is James Lind of Three Rivers.
The district will start taking orders for "Homegrown in Cass County" at the Cass County Fair from Monday, Aug. 1, through Saturday, Aug. 6.
Cost of the calendar is $20.
Payment may be made by cash, check or money order.
The district does not accept credit cards.
After the fair, calendars may be ordered at the district office, or by phone or mail.
The full color calendar will be released in early October.
