NILES - Even a 45 minute rain delay couldn't stop these girls from playing softball.
After a heavy downpour forced the 11-12 year-old and 13-16 year-old leagues to sit in the dugout, the fields were quickly cleaned and the girls returned to action.
Selge and Dugout met for another night of playoff action at Fireman's Youth Park.
After being down 8-2 in the fifth and final inning, Dugout rallied and scored four runs to attempt to grab the win.
Kristina King was the first to score in the inning. King stole home on a wild pitch to bring the score to 8-3.
Two more runs were scored by errors on Selge's end to bring Dugout within three runs of the tie.
Sarah Ferguson, who won the game for Dugout Monday evening when she pounded a triple to the outfield, contributed to her team again by hitting an RBI single to bring the score to 8-6, but that's as close as Dugout got before three outs forced the game to end.
Dugout will have another shot to comeback as the playoffs are double elimination. Selge has no losses.
All Points and Hacker's met for game two of the 11-12 year-old playoff action. No results or reschedules were available at press time.
