Cass County Drug Enforcement Team executed two search warrants in the City of Dowagiac at approximately 6 a.m. Friday, July 8.
The two locations were on Cherry and Maple streets and were conducted after receiving reports of crack/cocaine sale and distribution from these residences.
Information received from execution of these warrants also led to a search of a Vineyard Place Apartments residence in which crack was also found and persons were arrested.
In total, six persons were arrested during this investigation for various charges such as possession with intent to deliver crack, maintaining a drug house and child endangerment.
In addition, two children were turned over to the custody of the Michigan Department of Human Services and one juvenile discovered at one of the residences was taken into custody and turned over to Cass County Family Court.
During the raids, various quantities of crack, money and paraphernalia were discovered that led officers to believe crack was being distributed from these residences.
Both the Cherry Street and Maple Street residences were inspected by the Dowagiac building inspector and found to be in violation of code and condemned pending compliance with building code regulations.
The Cass County Warrant Service Team made up of officers from the Cass County Sheriff's Office and Dowagiac Police Department, conducted the raids with assistance from the Van Buren County Sheriff's Office's Emergency Service Team.
All subjects were lodged at the Cass County Jail pending arraignment.
