Cassopolis takes two from Portage South

Cassopolis got in the win column on Thursday, June 23, taking two from South Portage.
Game one was a lopsided 18-6 victory in a 10-run rule shortened game.
The game was sloppy on both sides with South Portage committing six errors while Cass committed four.
Jason Rietveld (1-1) picked up the victory for Cassopolis.
A.J.Broussard had a pair of doubles for Cassopolis, which also got a double from Josh Cole. Mike DeGraff finished with three hits and Ashton Danzy with two hits.
The second game was a better contest with Cass holding on to win 7-6.
This game was shortened by darkness after four innings.

Cassopolis got doubles from Rietveld and Cole.
Cass had a comfortable lead going into the final inning leading 7-1, but South Portage wouldn't go quietly, scoring five runs in the last half of the fourth to make it an exciting finish.
Cassopolis is now 2-4 on the year.
Cass' hosted Paw Paw on Tuesday and will play at Constantine today at 6p.m.
