NILES - Only the vacant stores at the Eastgate Shopping Center located on Oak Street in Niles have been condemned.
This is according to Niles Township Code Enforcement Officer, Stefanie Woodrich.
Woodrich added that the township is really looking for the property to be brought up to code, which means it is clean, safe and secure for people, and they are optimistic things may be getting better after meeting with the owners management team.
The owners are Moorpark Associate, LLC., out of California, and representatives from the company flew to Michigan last week to talk with Niles Township officials.
She added, "We are really excited about the efforts they are making and they have done a lot more in the past few days than the previous owners did the whole time they owned the building."
