The Michigan All-Stars built up a 2-0 halftime lead and never looked back in beating the Metro All-Stars 3-1 for the Sports Fest girls' soccer championship Thursday night.
Michigan got first half goals from Mallory Smith of St. Joseph and Sarah Lange of Edwardsburg.
Smith's goal came just 48 seconds into the match as she took a corner kick.
Smith's curving kick bounced and eventually found its way into the net.
The All-Stars probably sealed the victory in the 17th minute when Lange scored an unassisted goal.
Michigan, which took advantage of being in better shape than the Metro All-Stars, who play soccer in the fall, made it 3-0 in the 43rd minute as Joey Maher scored with assist from St. Joseph's Mary Schueneman.
The Indiana Metro All-Stars averted the shut out with a penalty kick in the 64th minute.
Bailey Decker scored the goal.
Michigan held a 12-2 advantage in shots on goal.
Leanna Rice recorded one save for Michigan.
Alison Smith and Shea Gartee had seven and two saves respectively for the Metro All-Stars.
