Chieftain sports camps beginning on Monday

It is not too late to register your child for one of Dowagiac's seven summer sports camps.
Brochures are available in the Dowagiac Athletic Office. A complete form may be dropped off or mailed to the athletic office.
Boys' basketball camp
Session I will be held from 8-10 a.m., June 13-16 at Dowagiac Union High School.
Cost of the camp is $20.
Session I is for students entering grades 6-9. Campers will play and practice in the gym where they will learn the importance of fundamentals through repetitive drills, skills stations and practice.
They will have an opportunity to participate in a shooting league, competitive games and competitions such as hot shot, free throws, speed layups and more.
The camp is lead by former and current players and the high school coaching staff.
The second session, also held June 13-16, will run from 10 a.m. until noon.
Cost is $20.
Tennis camp
Session I will run from 8-9 a.m. June 13-24 at the tennis courts at Dowagiac Union High School.
Cost of the camp is $20.
Session I is for ages 6-13. Session II, which will be held from 9-10 a.m., is for students and adults ages 14 and up.
The camp will be conducted by Dowagiac boys' tennis coach Curtis Partee. There will be an emphasis on the fundamentals of tennis.
Wrestling camp
This camp will be held June 13-17 from 9-11 a.m. at the Dowagiac Armory across from Dowagiac Union High School.
Cost of the camp is $20.
The camp, which will be run by Dowagiac varsity wrestling coach John Green and his staff, is for grades 7-12.
The emphasis of the camp will be on the fundamentals of wrestling.
Volleyball camp I
Varsity volleyball coach Carl Greulich and his staff will run this camp June 13-17 from 5:15-7:15 p.m. at Dowagiac Union High School.
Cost of the camp will be $20.
Participants in the camp are children entering grades 3-6 and their parents.
Camp emphasis will be on teaching kids and parents the fundamentals of volleyball with game applications.
