An outmanned Dowagiac soccer team was eliminated from the Division 3 district tournament Tuesday afternoon by visiting South Haven.
The Lady Rams, who avenged a 1-0 loss to Dowagiac in last year's district opener, defeated the Chieftains 5-0 to advance to today's semifinal against either Otsego or Parchment.
The second semifinal match is scheduled to begin at 5:45 p.m.
South Haven, which won its first ever district match, grabbed a 3-0 halftime lead on Dowagiac, which played with only 11 players and no substitutions.
Dowagiac played without senior goalkeeper Jackie Sayre who suffered a knee injury in practice last week.
She was replaced by senior Danielle Stanton, who herself was returning from a head injury that kept her out of several weeks of action.
In the first semifinal today, Comstock will take on Paw Paw, which defeated Edwardsburg 3-2 in overtime.
The finals are scheduled for Friday night at 6 p.m. Should Otsego reach the finals, they will be played on Saturday due to the fact that the Bulldogs' graduation is scheduled for Friday evening.
