Bucks win tourney

BUCHANAN - The host Bucks knocked off neighbor Brandywine to capture the championship of the annual Buck Classic Saturday afternoon in high school baseball.
Buchanan defeated the Bobcats 9-2 as it scored seven runs in the second inning of the title game.
Buchanan reached the finals with a wild 20-16 win over Gobles in the semifinals.
Brandywine reached the championship with a 4-1 win over Allegan.
In the title game PJ Pollock not only was the winning pitcher, but doubled for the Bucks, who finished with 11 hits.
Buchanan also got a double from Justin Helt and Jeremy Lucas went 2-for-4.
Brandywine, which finished with six hits, got a double from Dustin Zimmerman.
Zach Bennett suffered the loss for Bobcats.
In its semifinal victory, Buchanan finished with 12 hits and took advantage of seven Gobles errors.
Pollock, Jeremy Lucas and Helt all had doubles.
Gobles finished with 10 hits and used four Buchanan errors to score 16 runs.
Brandywine's Kory Bridges tossed a one-hitter with 14 strikeouts in the Bobcats' win over Allegan.
Brandywine scored all four of its runs in the opening inning against the Tigers.
The Bobcats had five hits in the contest.
Buchanan will host Grace Christian today. Game time is set for 4 p.m.
The Bobcats will host Cassopolis on Tuesday with the first of two games set to begin at 4 p.m.
