NILES - Summer is quickly approaching and plans for the Memorial Day weekend festivities are already underway. Starting 11 a.m. Sunday, May 29, services will be conducted by the American Legion Post 26-Aux 26 at Mission Hills Cemetery, located on M-51 North, Niles.
Also on Sunday, there will be services conducted at 2 p.m. at River Park Memorial. Guest speaker will be John Street.
On Monday, Memorial Day, May 30, services will be held at 9 a.m. at the Calvary Cemetery.
Participants in the parade should meet to line up at 9:15 a.m. at W. Main and State St., Niles, located by the YMCA. The annual Memorial Day parade will begin at 10 a.m. at Main Street and proceed to Silverbrook Cemetery where additional services will be held at 11 a.m.
Following the services, the Legion Post 26 members will be holding a luncheon and they welcome all parade participants to attend.
Parade applications may be picked up at the Legion Post 26. The deadline for registration is May 25.
