ST. JOSEPH - The Dowagiac varsity tennis team was blanked by host St. Joseph in a Big 16 Conference West Division match on Wednesday, 8-0.
The win kept St. Joseph undefeated on the season at 3-0.
Dowagiac falls to 0-4 overall and 0-1 in the West Division.
The Bears lost just seven games in sweeping the singles matches and seven games in sweeping the doubles matches.
The Chieftains return to the court on Friday when they travel to Edwardsburg for a non-conference match. The match is slated to begin at 4 p.m.
In junior varsity matches, Kevin Simpson lost 1-8, Jon Mitchell lost 1-8, Josh Rodgers lost 6-8 and Satakun Tanthaweeviewat in singles competition.
In doubles play, Micah Null and Kevin Billingham lost 0-8, Hunter Topping and Josh Jerz lost 0-8, Deshaun Baylock and Andy Ausra lost 0-8.
Richard Reese and Justin Canniff lost 0-8.
