NILES - The Niles boys and girls track teams both picked up Big 16 wins Tuesday afternoon against Benton Harbor.
The boys picked up the 106.5-60.5 win and the girls got the 98-62 win.
First place winners for the day in girls events were Nicole Horvath on the pole vault (7-3), Ashley Austin in the discus (87-11.5), Tasha Webster in the long jump (18-11), Austin in the shot put (31-4.5), Sam Brawley in the 1600 run (6:15.2), Brawley in the 800 run (2:52.74) and Tamara Madison in the 3200 run (16:36.68).
Niles took wins in the 3200 relay (14:16.91) and the 1600 relay (4:56.43).
Taking first place for the boys were Aubrey James Hopkins in the shot put (40-1), Brandon Spicer in the pole vault (7-6), Isaiah Glaze in the 100 dash (11.36), Logan Todd in the 800 run (2:09.85) and Andrew Karsten in the 3200 run (11:48.34).
The Vikings took wins in the 3200 relay (8:52.99), 400 relay (44.82) and the 1600 relay (3:43.52).
Taking second place in events for the girls were Elizabeth Durm (pole vault), Chelsea Bennett (discus), Kyla Kirkendoll (shot put), Heather Rogers (1600 run), Autumn Grayson (400 dash), Rogers (800 run) and Brawley (3200 run).
Niles took second in the 800 relay, 400 relay and 200 dash.
Taking second place in events for the boys were Hopkins (discus), David Davis (long jump), Paul DePoy (shot put), Austin Neilson (1600 run), Andrew Wuthnow (800 run) and Daniel Geiger (3200 run).
The Vikings took second in the 800 relay, 400 dash, 300 hurdles and 200 dash.
