Dowagiac JV baseball team splits

The Dowagiac junior varsity baseball team split a doubleheader with visiting Battle Creek Harper Creek on Thursday.
Dowagiac (2-2) won the opening game 4-1, but lost the nightcap, 10-4.
Jason Fryan (2-0) picked up the victory as he worked five and two-third innings, allowing one run on nine hits with four strike outs.
DJ Edgerly worked the final inning and a third to pick up the save. He allowed two hits while striking out two and walking two.
Kyle Bailey went 2-for-3 with the game-winning RBI. Mike Laylin doubled for the Chieftains as did Kyle Prak. Ryan Laylin singled and drove in a run.
In the nightcap Tyler First suffered the loss. Also pitching for the Chieftains were Reggie Fritz, Alex Withorn and Tony Saviano.
Kyle Prak went 3-for-4, while Keith Prak was 2-for-3. Adam Hess was also 2-for-3.
