Cassopolis advances to Class C semifinals

WHITE PIGEON - The Cassopolis Rangers rallied from a 10-point third quarter deficit to defeat Marcellus 64-59 in overtime Tuesday night.
Marcellus opened up an 11-7 lead after one quarter of play which it stretched to 24-16 by halftime.
The Wildcats (13-8) enjoyed a 10-point advantage in the third quarter against the Rangers before Cassopolis mounted its comeback.
Trailing 30-20, Cassopolis went on a 7-0 run led by Neal Bullocks.
The Rangers grabbed the lead and led by four points in the fourth quarter before the two teams settled for a 48-all tie at the end of regulation.
The Rangers (11-9) took a 58-56 lead with just over a minute remaining on a three-pointer by Kevin Luckey, who returned after serving a week-long suspesion.
Marcellus was unable to catch the Rangers after that point.
Luckey scored 22 points to lead the Rangers, who also got 15 points from Will Loux, 14 points from Bullocks and nine points from Dan Stanage.
Marcellus was led by Ricky Plotts' game-high 28 points and 11 rebounds. Plotts had seven three-pointers for the Wildcats.
Marcellus also got 13 points from Trent Booth and 11 rebounds and nine points from Jake Hill.
Cassopolis advances to Thursday's semifinals against Colon. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. The winner advances to Saturday's championship contest.
BRIDGMAN - Despite school closing and a winter storm the Class C districts went on as usual Tuesday night as the Bridgman Bees defeated Watervliet in a very physical game 58-43. The win advances the Bees to the semi-finals on Thursday against River Valley.
Buchanan will face Eau Claire in tonight's semifinal game. The winner will advance to the championship game Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
