Brandywine mourns loss of Beth Law

NILES - The Brandywine Public Schools family were shocked and deeply saddened with the sudden and unexpected death of one of their own Thursday.
Elizabeth Marie Law was only 55 but she had given of herself to both her community of Galien and also to Niles, where she had been with the Brandywine Public Schools since 1994.
She was born Elizabeth Marie Fadeley on July 26, 1949.
She had spent more than 30 years in the business of educating and counseling our youth.
Until last month, she had served on the Galien School Board for seven years as a trustee.
At Brandywine, where she was first employed in September of 1994 as an counselor at Merritt Elementary School, others came in to talk to the students and staff after receiving news of her death on Friday.
Since August 2003, she was a special education teacher in Brandywine High School.
She received her teaching degree from the University of Western Michigan. She had endorsements in all subjects for kindergarten through eighth grade, also to teach mentally impaired and learningn disabled, K-12.
Law received her masters degree from Andrews University.
Before coming to Brandywine, she was a special education teacher in Galien Township and at Eau Claire Public Schools
She enjoyed genealogy, history, politics.
Brandywine Superintendent Gary Rider was out of town and unable to comment.
Funeral arrangements are pending, and being handled by the Allred Funeral Home in Berrien Springs.
