On Wednesday night the Central Middle School junior high wrestling team traveled to Coloma to take on the host Comets, Edwardsburg, and Bangor.
Due to time the Chieftains only faced Coloma and Edwardsburg.
Winning matches against Coloma were: Andrew Ostrowski, Jacob Weldy, Kent Emerson, Scott Ferrier, Jaron Mosier, Mike Sirk, Jason Bailey, Andrew Hurrle, Chad Ottinger, Aaron Talley, and Adam Roach. "I feel that we are coming along well with all the new wrestlers we have," Dowagiac coach Andy Crawley said. "The older wrestlers are stepping up and showing great leadership. The match against Edwardsburg started out nicely, but then our lack of experience showed and they got the best of us. We'll be better prepared the next time we meet them."
Winning matches against the Eddies were: Andrew Ostrowski, Bobby Price, and D.J. Tartt.
The wrestling team returns to action next Tuesday when they host the Lakeshore Lancers at Central Middle School 4 p.m.
