The Dowagic freshmen basketball team went 8-of-27 from the free throw line Tuesday night in a 47-31 loss to visiting Coldwater.
Dowagiac was in the game throughout, but could not convert on its free throws.
Coldwater led 13-4 after one period of play and 31-24 at the intermission.
Neither team scored in the third quarter. Coldwater outscored Dowagiac 16-7 in the final eight minutes.
Jacob Kling scored nine points to lead Dowagiac. Jacob Cox scored six points and Juanieco Brown scored five points.
Michael Castillo finished with four.
