NILES - If you were lucky enough to receive a new digital camera for Christmas you have an opportunity to test your creative picture-taking skills at the Niles Hunter Ice Festival this weekend.
The Niles DDA Main Street Promotions Committee is inviting all amateur photographers to take pictures of any aspect of the three-day festival and submit them for a chance to win cash prizes. Winning photos will also be used for promotional purposes for the 2006 festival.
Participants are invited to submit up to three pictures. All will be mounted and dislayed throughout the downtown area following the festival.
A panel of judges will take on the task of choosing the top 10. The top three will receive cash awards of $100, $75 and $50 respectively.
All photographs should be enlarged to at least 5" by 7" in size or submitted as a digital jpeg file and will become property of the Niles DDA-Main Street.
