After winning two in a row, Buchanan couldn't get its third straight victory Thursday. The Bucks lost 53-39 to Cassopolis at home.
The Rangers got too far ahead of Buchanan in the first quarter for the Bucks to make a serious run. Cass built a 21-8 lead in the period.
Cass pushed its lead to 14 points at halftime and 16 points at the end of three.
Katie Backus led Buchanan with 12 points on six field goals. One game after scoring 22 points, the Bucks' Dee Dee Thompson managed just six points Thursday. She did grab 12 rebounds.
Backus was the only Buck in double-figures. No other Buchanan player scored more than seven points.
Buchanan is now 5-9 overall and 5-4 in the Lakeland Conference.
