Ring Lardner seventh graders beat Bangor

Ring Lardner's seventh grade football team beat Bangor 28-0 at home Wednesday night to even its record at 2-2-1.
Kevin Gross again led the way for the Vikings with two rushing touchdowns on the first two possessions. He scored on runs of 25 and 5 yars. Cameron Sly threw to Bryan Evans for the two-point conversion after the first touchdown.
After a scoreless second quarter, Ring Lardner's Ramone Brown took the second half kickoff 85 yards for a touchdown and Gross carried for the two-point conversion.
Shawn Holland completed the scoring on the first play of the fourth quarter, a 1-yard plunge into the endzone.
Holland also recovered a fumble in the game.
Also on defense, Robert Wagner got a sack and recovered a fumble for the Vikings. Hugh Hatcher and Michael Mitchell kept Bangor's center blocked all game.
Ring Lardner's linebacker crew of Cal Poehlman, Ricky Briand and Matthew Bricker contained Bangor and kept its running backs from gaining yards outside.
Shane Pompey and Anthony Aguilar also recorded big hits for Ring Lardner.
The Vikings defensive unit controlled the field throughout the game, never allowing Bangor to mount a serious attack.
The seventh grade team plays its final game of the season 4 p.m. Oct. 25 at St. Joseph's Upton Middle School.
