Ring Lardner's seventh grade football team suffered a 20-7 road loss at Discovery Middle School on Tuesday. Discovery scored all of its points in the first quarter with the aid of two Viking fumbles near their own red zone. Nils scored in the second quarter on a 23-yard run by Cameron Sly. Sly also ran in the two-point conversion. The remainder of the game saw both defenses keep the game scoreless.
Kevin Gros was impressive for a second week in a row at running back. He was joined by Matthew Bricher, who also performed well in the backfield. On special teams, Bricker recovered a fumble caused by Jared Manigold.
The seventh grade team plays Bangor at home Tuesday at 5 p.m.
