Brandywine's tennis team played one last regular season match Tuesday before Thursday's regionals. The Bobcats squared off against Lake Michigan Catholic at Plym Park.
Because it was the Bobcats' final match, head coach Joe Marazita treated Tuesday as their Senior Night. He made sure all his seniors got an opportunity to play.
LMC came in with only six full flights. The Lakers were missing players because of a school field trip.
Because of the shortened squad, Marazita mix and matched his players, playing them at flights they don't normally compete at. He said he wanted to give them a different experience.
Brandywine fared well, winning all six of the flights in straight sets, including two 6-0, 6-0 shutouts of LMC. Marazita got a chance to play all nine of his seniors.
Buchanan was also in action Tuesday preparing for regionals. The Bucks went to Schoolcraft for a final tune up. Match results were not available at press time.
The Bucks will scrimmage Cass tonight in one last opportunity to prepare for their chance to go to the state tournament.
The Bobcats will also have a scrimmage tonight. They are scheduled to match up with St. Joseph at home.
