In the words of Buchanan head coach Cuppy Mace, the Bucks whipped right through Thursday's dual meet against Niles.
Buchanan put on a dominant performance, led by all four singles players, in a 7-1 victory at Niles. The Vikings lone win came at No. 2 doubles.
Singles have been a strong point for Buchanan all season, with seniors Ashley Shepherd and Jaclyn Mummaw leading the way. Thursday was no different, as all four singles won 6-0, 6-0.
Shepherd won at No. 1 singles and Mummaw at No. 2, followed by Tracy Brelowski at No. 3 and Olivia Bonarda at No. 4.
Niles' team of Danielle Lowery and Samantha Beck picked up the team's flight victory, beating Lizzy Thornton and Nicole Mayer 7-5, 7-6 (7-2).
Buchanan's other three doubles teams got the job done, however, giving the Bucks the 7-1 victory.
Hannah Flood and Katrina Weldy won at No. 1 doubles for the Bucks. Brittanee Smeltzer and Terra Linville took the victory at No. 3 doubles, and Leslie Niemier and Robyn Bahr won at No. 4 doubles.
Despite the big win, Mace said her doubles teams struggled in their matches.
The victory was Buchanan's third in as many dual meets this season. The Bucks had meets with Coloma and Berrien Springs scheduled for next week, but both were postponed because the schools don't have enough players to field a team. Buchanan travels to Edwardsburg Sept. 8.
The Vikings hosts the Niles Invitational Saturday, beginning at 9 a.m.
